LAND OF BONES by Glenn Rolfe

LAND OF BONES tugs at your heartstrings and rips them from your chest, leaving you breathless. This collection is amazing! The stories will make you cry, they will make you smile, but most of all, they will make you feel. Love and loss fill the pages. Glenn writes what he knows. I love the skull and bones cover, too! Glenn Rolfe is one of the best horror authors of this generation. His writing gets stronger with every outing. This collection is top notch. All 14 stories are great so I will talk about a few of my favorites. These stories are not in any particular order or anything.

The Fixer is about loss and how far a parent is willing to go to keep their loved ones. This one sent chills down my spine.

Simon is about a worm. This one made me squirm.

Little Bunny is a creepy tale about the woods and what waits within.

The Rooster is autobiographical. It dropkicks you right in the feels.

Charley Sings the World Away is a great post-apocalyptic look at family life.

Ghosts of Spears Corner is a nostalgia-filled story about a giant secret that has been kept quiet for 60 years. I jumped while reading this one.

Glenn Rolfe delivers the scares, empathy, heartache, and loss. He offers a wide variety of stories that span the horror genre. This collection is well balanced. Glenn Rolfe has found his stride. I look forward to reading his other works! If you haven't read Glenn Rolfe, then you should fix that rather quickly.

Highly Recommend!

5/5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Demon lights, granted wishes, strange things, and brutal love at the Lucky Lounge Motel. A haunted sister, desperate parents, a little human touch, and the end of the world…

These are the stories whispered among dead leaves, the script etched bare for all to see. When the chills sink deep and your heart begins to pound…are you alone?

Welcome to Glenn Rolfe’s LAND OF BONES

14 tales of the strange and macabre

  1. "Simon is about a worm. This one made me squirm." - That was horrible. LOL

I don't think I've ever read anything from Glenn Rolfe.

    1. You can have your chance. I'm finishing up final edits on this one now with him. I've been working with him for years, I love his short stories, and too, feel he's done his best work here.
