Slowly We Rot by Bryan Smith

Noah is a troubled guy with drinking problems. He found refuge from the zombie plague in a secluded cabin in Tennessee. He lets his sister Aubrey and her boyfriend have the cabin, and he goes on a journey to Ventura, California to find his lost love, Lisa. On his journey, he runs into an old man who is a sick perverted serial killer. He comes across a small apocalyptic government, he almost gets hanged, but eventually, he makes it to Ventura. When he arrives in Ventura he learns that Lisa had been brain damaged in a car wreck. He puts Lisa and her mother out of their miseries by shooting them. They turn into zombies, and they are about to attack Noah when the book ends. The author leaves you with a question. Did Noah commit suicide or did he kill the two women zombies in order to survive?
What is so great about this zombie book is the fact that anyone can become a zombie after they die. This leaves you guessing who will become the next zombie because the process is so random. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes horror or suspense books!
5/5 stars!
