Granville by Alice J. Black and David Owan Hughes

Great Read!
I really enjoyed the storyline. The author really got into the main character’s psyche. The storyline doesn’t miss a beat; it was paced beautifully. The story is about a kid who gets picked on at school. He can’t seem to catch a break at home or at school. He is into masks, and he finds a cool mask. Along with the mask comes a new persona. He starts calling himself Granville. One day he snaps. He starts killing his classmates, his mother, and teachers.
He has a crush on a girl who makes fun of him. He sets up a hangout in order to kill her. She just so happened to bring a friend along. He doesn’t mind. He’s ready for both of them, and he ends up knocking them out by putting medication in their food. His crush realizes that he is the killer, and she begins telling him she loves him. He doesn’t know if she is being sincere or not, so he has her kill the friend she brought along. She kills her friend for him.
If I’m being honest, I didn’t see that ending coming. I thought for sure that she was saying that to buy herself some time. I thought she would go after him, but she went after her friend instead.
I highly recommend this book to horror fans and fans of slasher films! I will definitely read more books by this author!
5/5 stars!
