No Mercy: Dark Poems by Alessandro Manzetti

This is my second time reading horror poetry. I have to admit that the cover by Daniele Serra sold me on this book. No Mercy is definitely what you get with this collection of poems! From the first poem, Alessandro Manzetti grabs you and there is no escape. This collection is raw and gritty. I felt like I needed a shower after reading these poems. Alessandro Manzetti dedicates this book to Janis Joplin, although he was listening to Miles Davis while writing these poems.

Alessandro Manzetti uses anger and sadness to convey his poems. He assaults you with his verses, which read like lyrics from a late 60's album. His verses are powerfully evocative. The illustrations by Giampaolo Frizzi make this collection even better.

This is a great poem collection that will make you feel! It is jam-packed with emotions, love, and death! This is my first time reading Alessandro Manzetti, but it won't be my last.

I highly recommend this collection to fans of horror and poetry!

5/5 stars!
