The Halloween Children by Brian James Freeman and Norman Prentiss

Brian James Freeman and Norman Prentiss have concocted a great story! This book is set at Stillbrook Apartments, which are quiet and affordable. The main characters are the handyman, his wife, and his two children. Everything is normal and the neighbors are friendly. As Halloween quickly approaches, strange things begin to happen around the apartment complex. Strange noises can be heard through the walls. One abandoned unit is inhabited by something that is no long living and sinister. The annual Halloween party is canceled to keep the tenants safe. There is no decorations, masks, candied apples, or witch's brew. The Halloween Children do not have any treats, but they have several nasty tricks up their sleeves.

This story is told in an interview format. The handyman recounts what happened last year on Halloween night. The dialogue is amazing between the interviewer and the handyman. The narrative is smooth and the ending is amazing! There are several parts that will give you shivers. You will be suspicious of everyone in this story. That ending, though! It all comes pouring out at the end. What does the handyman reveal? What does he remember from that Halloween night?

I highly recommend this book to fans of Halloween and horror!

5/5 stars!
